Client
The client, a Sabah-based company, is a consortium of healthcare professionals specializing in Medical Device Consultancy, Turnkey Medical Equipment Provision and Medical Centre Management.
Background
The Client is keen to be a strategic partner in setting up an Integrated Medical Centre in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. They have identified a strategic choice of land (3.9 acre) for the development in the centre of Kota Kinabalu. The client wish to propose to the land owner for a joint venture partnership with them in developing the Integrated Medical Centre.
Challenges & Expectations
The Client has shortlisted the preferred land for the development, however the land belongs to old syariah courthouse. This would require a tactical negotiation with the land owner and the development has been visioned to become the 1st Muslim-Friendly Medical Centre that offers Cradle-to-Grave healthcare services. The consultant has been engaged to prepare a proposal paper to present to the land owner and negotiate on deal terms.

Scope of Services
To create a business plan that encompasses the business model, service offerings, guiding principles, financial feasibility and socio-economic modelling, collaboration model and investment required.
Solutions / Outcomes Delivered
- Conduct market research on healthcare industry landscape in Sabah and socio-economic challenges for the development
- Formula business model and identify key differentiators with the competitors
- Develop financial models to simulate the performance of the project and assess the project viability
- Conduct high-level socio-economic model to simulate potential impact based on output of base-case model
- Outline possible collaboration models for the client to enter a partnership with targeted land owner
- Assist in the preparation of the Concept paper for the presentation with land owner
