Client
The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament, the East Coast Economic Region Development Council Act 2008 (Act 688), to drive the implementation projects and key programmes identified in the ECER Masterplan.
Background
The client is aspired to venture into swiftlet business as part of their effort to uplift the economy of the state.
Challenges & Expectations
The consultant was to design a fully functioning business plan and financial model for the proposed park to provide economic and social progression in the state.
Our Role on the Project
Scope of Services
We were appointed to carry out a Business Strategy and Implementation Plan for an Integrated Swiftlet Park in Pekan.
Solutions / Outcomes Delivered
- In-depth study of the swiftlet industry globally, in Malaysia and in particular the ECER states. This gave us a good understanding on the business dynamic, market demand and key success factors for swiftlet business in Malaysia.
- We then designed an implementation plan for the swiftlet integrated park, taking into consideration the operation and financial aspects to ensure it is financially viable and self-sustainable in the long term.
- As part of the stakeholder engagement process, we facilitate the liaison with large international edible birds nests buyers to take up the role as the project champions.
