Description of Project

Client

A private consultancy firm providing engineering and project management services for infrastructure and development projects.

Background

The Limbang Lawas Local Plan 2035 was commissioned to guide land use and development across Limbang and Lawas through 2035. The study integrates economic, social, environmental and infrastructure considerations into a coordinated planning framework. Economic analysis was required to identify growth opportunities and inform development strategies and spatial planning proposals.

Challenges & Expectations

The study required consolidating available economic data and supplementing selected gaps with agency inputs and stakeholder insights. Different development conditions across Limbang and Lawas called for locally relevant recommendations. The study was expected to establish an economic baseline, identify growth opportunities and provide practical inputs aligned with the wider local plan.
