Description of Project

Client

A local authority responsible for the administration, planning and delivery of municipal services and urban development

Background

The Local Council sought to strengthen its smart city development agenda in response to evolving urban needs, technological advancements and increasing expectations for efficient, sustainable and citizen-centric municipal services. A comprehensive Smart City Action Plan was required to consolidate existing initiatives and provide a structured direction for smart city development towards 2030.

Challenges & Expectations

The Local Council had implemented various smart city initiatives across multiple areas but required a more integrated and systematic framework to coordinate these efforts, address emerging urban challenges and prioritise future interventions. The study was expected to establish clear strategic priorities, implementation pathways, governance mechanisms and performance indicators while ensuring alignment with national smart city frameworks and relevant standards.
