Client
The client is a government unit in Malaysia that is responsible for the Halal industry development of the state. Their roles include planning & development of industrial infrastructure to facilitate industrial growth.
Background
As part of the effort to facilitate economic growth & develop the halal industry, the client wanted to devise a master plan for a 11,000 hectares of land situated in Tanjung Manis, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The objective of the study is to propose a development to 2030 for the Halal Hub in Tanjung Manis, which is integrated with plans for other industries in Tanjung Manis.
Challenges & Expectations
As a comprehensive development plan, the study shall composed of the following aspects: project management, data gathering & analysis, review current development, SWOT analysis, soil assessment, visioning for the halal hub, business & market study of the halal industry, branding & marketing plan, institutional & legal framework, manpower planning, socio-economic impact assessment, financial incentives, implementation plan, and funding.
Our Role on the Project
Scope of Services
Work along side with consultants from expertise such as engineering, physical planning and legal, our roles was mainly on the business & market study, socio-economic impact assessment, financial incentives, project implementation and funding strategy.
Solutions / Outcomes Delivered
- Created a project vision, 20 years business strategy and master plan for the 11,000 hectare halal industrial park
- Engaged all stakeholders including government, developers, investors, local population via stakeholder workshops & interviews to create an aligned plan consisting of investible projects
- Developed 23 flagship projects which targeted on the core downstream industries
- Devised 153 detailed implementation plan for the hub, including the physical plan for the facilities; infrastructure, buildings, supply chain, transport etc.
