What is the MyDIGITAL Initiative & Digital Nasional Berhad about?

On 19th February 2021, the Prime Minister of Malaysia Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin launched the MyDIGITAL initiative - a new and comprehensive approach designed to anchor the country’s digital economy by 2030. This initiative serves as part of the government's plans to transform Malaysia into a digitally-driven, high income nation and a regional leader in the digital economy.

The Growing Data Center Market post-COVID

With the increasing digital needs of the various emerging economies of huge populations such as China, India, and Indonesia; the data centre services market is growing strong especially in the Asia-Pacific region and reported a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.7%  between 2015 and 2020. This process was further accelerated in early 2020 when the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic which saw a growth in video streaming, video conferencing, online gaming, and social networking which caused an exponential rise in the demand for data centre services. Adopting Digital Twin Technology to Improve Design & Asset Performance

The concept of Digital Twin has been around since the beginning of the 21st Century. Although it has been more than twenty years, it was not emphasised enough until recent years. With the advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) and internet accessibility, Digital Twin technology is becoming more cost-effective and it is now being widely adopted by various industries. Digital Twin was also named as one of Gartner’s Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for year 2017.

Another 'Eventful' Month

Another eventful month for 27Group as its Executive Director, Girish Ramachandran and 27Digital’s Executive Director Harish Subramaniam, were both invited to be speakers at two webinars this month.

At the beginning of March Girish and Harish spoke at Cybersecurity Exchange Malaysia 2021. Girish talked about Development of 4IR Cybersecurity National Framework of Policies for Malaysia, while Harish shared about The Malaysian Data Security Challenges and Trends. Cybersecurity Exchange Malaysia is an annual landmark event with the aim of transforming cyber resilience with tomorrow’s cyber and data security megatrends.

On 31 March 2021, Girish and Harish were once again invited to be speakers at the Malaysian Dutch Business Council’s (MDBC) Connects Fair. Girish kicked off the Digital Hour by sharing about the 4IR Policies and Strategies, while Harish talked about Digital Transformation for Success. MDBC Connects Fair is held every quarter via Zoom webinar.

Sue Thin is well diverse in areas such as business finance, market research, financial analysis and investment analysis. After gaining several years of experience, she is competent in accounting and financial duties including, maintaining financial records, managing budgets, performing risk assessments and business strategy reviews.

2. Proudest achievement ... Honoured to be a member of my high school Chinese orchestra band. We participated in multiple international stage performances and competitions. Successfully held numerous entertaining music concerts.
3. The last 5 years … Leaving my comfort zone to study in a foreign city had taught me a lot of valuable life lessons. I am thrilled to be a part of this company, to continue my journey in my career path.
